About Bowman Gilfillan Bursary

The Bowman Gilfillan Bursary (run under the firm's current name, Bowmans) funds South African students studying towards a Law qualification - LLB, BCom Law or BA Law - at a recognised South African university. It is a full-cost bursary intended to cover tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, accommodation and a living allowance for the duration of the recipient's degree.

The bursary is funded by Bowmans, one of Africa's largest corporate law firms, with its South African base in Johannesburg and further offices in Cape Town and Durban. Bowmans created the programme to build a pipeline of law talent into the firm, and recipients gain mentorship and vacation work exposure to commercial legal practice alongside their financial support.

Funding Details
