About Hortgro Bursary
HORTGRO, the representative body for South Africa's deciduous fruit industry, runs the Hortgro Bursary Programme (HBP) to develop future researchers, technical specialists and industry leaders for the sector. Over the past decade HORTGRO has invested more than R55 million in bursaries, supporting several hundred students.
The programme supports South African students studying towards undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in fields relevant to the deciduous fruit industry, including agricultural sciences, horticulture, business management and environmental sustainability.
In addition to full or partial tuition cover and a stipend toward study-related expenses, bursary holders gain access to internship and mentorship opportunities with industry professionals and to HORTGRO's network of experts.
