Fields of Study & Who Can Apply

You need to be a South African citizen under 21 in 2027, currently in Matric and entering first-year university study in 2027, with a minimum overall average of 70%, or Level 6 in English and Mathematics or Science in Grade 11. Your family's household income needs to be below R600,000 a year.

Because the bursary funds first-year entry specifically, it isn't available to students already partway through a healthcare qualification - you need to be applying before you start.
