About Pps Chairmans Fund Bursary
The PPS Chairman's Fund is the historic name for the bursary programme now run through the PPS Foundation, established in 2016 to widen access to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics education in South Africa. PPS, short for Professional Provident Society, is the only company in South Africa structured as a mutual financial services provider solely for graduate professionals, offering investment, healthcare, and insurance solutions.
Because PPS built its business around supporting professionals, funding STEM and Humanities students through university is a direct extension of that same purpose: helping capable people reach professional careers.
Funding Details
The bursary covers tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, meals, and university residence accommodation. Recipients also receive access to study skills and tutoring support, networking events, career services, and additional on-campus support during their first year.
Where You Can Study
Applicants must study full-time at a recognised public tertiary institution in South Africa, meaning a public university or university of technology. Private colleges do not qualify.
