Disability Empowerment Concerns (DEC) Trust

The Disability Empowerment Concerns (DEC) Trust is a South African non-profit organisation established in 1996, focused on advancing the social and economic inclusion of persons with disabilities.

The Trust funds bursaries specifically for students with disabilities studying in scarce and critical skills fields, because access to tertiary education remains one of the largest structural barriers disabled South Africans face in entering the skilled workforce - a barrier general-purpose bursary funds often don't address directly.

There is no employment work-back obligation. The Trust's selection process weighs disability status, admission to a scarce-skills qualification, academic performance, and genuine commitment to completing the qualification.
