Emfuleni Local Municipality

Emfuleni Local Municipality is a Category B municipality in the Sedibeng District of Gauteng, established in 1999. It covers roughly 987 square kilometres of the Vaal Triangle and includes Vereeniging, Vanderbijlpark, Sebokeng, Evaton, Sharpeville, Boipatong, Bophelong and Tshepiso. The Vaal River forms its southern boundary, and it is home to close to 80% of the Sedibeng District's total population, making it by far the largest and most urbanised municipality in the district.
