Hot 102.7FM is a commercial radio station broadcasting to the Gauteng market from Johannesburg. It launched in its current form on 1 July 2021 under owner The Professional Consortium, following the business rescue of the station's predecessor, Classic FM 102.7 (founded 1997). The station's community outreach arm, Hot Cares, runs listener-funded charity initiatives such as the annual Hot 1027 Teddython.
Through Hot Cares, Hot 102.7FM has partnered with Guvon Academy, the training academy of the Gauteng-based Guvon Hotels & Spas Group, to sponsor a fully-funded three-year professional chef qualification for one deserving matriculant per cycle. The bursary is a joint initiative rather than an ongoing structured fund: Hot Cares raises and donates the funds, while Guvon Academy provides the training seat, curriculum and workplace placement.
