Ivanplats (Pty) Ltd is a South African subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, a Canadian-listed mining company. Ivanplats is developing the Platreef project, a platinum-group metals, nickel, copper and gold deposit near Mokopane in Limpopo Province, one of the largest undeveloped PGM projects in the world.
As Platreef moves through development towards full production, Ivanplats funds bursaries for Historically Disadvantaged South Africans (HDSA) from the communities surrounding the mine, supporting qualifications in mining, engineering and related technical fields to build a skilled local workforce for future mine operations.
