Kwadukuza Municipality

Kwadukuza Municipality is the local government authority for the KwaDukuza area on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast, a fast-growing coastal municipality within the iLembe District that includes the towns of KwaDukuza (Stanger), Ballito and Shakas Rock. As a municipal government body, it is responsible for local service delivery, infrastructure and development planning, and it draws on its own operating budget to fund a resident bursary scheme rather than treating bursaries as a corporate social responsibility exercise.

The municipality funds the bursary to build a local skills pipeline for the district, targeting residents within its area of jurisdiction who want to study built environment, commerce, engineering, environmental management and related fields at public universities and TVET colleges.
