Macadamias South Africa (SAMAC)

Macadamias South Africa (SAMAC) is the non-profit industry body representing macadamia growers across South Africa, formed by a group of growers in the early 1970s to pool resources on shared industry challenges. SAMAC is based in Tzaneen, Limpopo, at the heart of the country's macadamia-growing region, and coordinates research, market development, and grower support on behalf of the industry.

SAMAC funds a small annual bursary programme aimed at building a skilled pipeline for the macadamia sector, supporting students studying agriculture and horticulture, with a strong preference for study directly relevant to macadamia production. Recipients are expected to work for a macadamia-related company, organisation, or institution in South Africa after completing their studies.
