PRDW

PRDW is an international group of consulting engineers specialising exclusively in port and coastal engineering. Founded in Cape Town in 1992, the firm has grown into a global practice with offices across South Africa, Chile, Australia, the USA, Mozambique, and Brazil, and a team of over 160 engineers and scientists who have completed projects in more than 40 countries.

PRDW's work covers the full lifecycle of port and coastal projects - investigations, planning and feasibility studies, detailed design, tender documentation, and construction supervision - drawing on civil, coastal, hydraulic, structural, and geotechnical engineers alongside oceanographers, master mariners, and quantity surveyors.

Because port and coastal engineering is such a specialised, small field, PRDW funds its bursary to secure a small number of highly qualified engineering graduates each year. Recipients complete vacation work with the firm as part of the bursary, giving them direct, hands-on exposure to specialist engineering work before they even graduate.
