Students for a Better Future (SBF)

Students for a Better Future (SBF) is a Cape Town-based scholarship programme established and funded by the Andreas and Susan Struengmann Foundation, a philanthropic foundation founded in 2007 by South African-born Sue Struengmann and her German husband Dr Andreas Struengmann, after the couple recognised the need to invest in education while working together in the rural Eastern Cape.

SBF's mission is to give academically talented, financially disadvantaged learners access to some of Cape Town's leading high schools, partnering with 13 schools in the region. The programme takes in around 60 new scholars a year entering Grade 8, and supports them through a Grade 7 preparatory year and right through high school with academic and social support, aiming to carry that support into tertiary study and the workplace.
