West Wits Mining

West Wits Mining Limited (ASX: WWI) is a gold mining company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, developing the Witwatersrand Basin Project (WBP) approximately 15km west of Johannesburg in Gauteng. The WBP sits within the historic Central Rand Goldfield, an area that has produced tens of millions of ounces of gold over more than a century of mining.

The company transitioned from explorer to gold producer in 2026 with first ore and a maiden gold pour from its Qala Shallows underground operation, processed under a toll-treatment agreement with Sibanye-Stillwater's Ezulwini plant. West Wits reports a current JORC Mineral Resource of 7.24 million ounces of gold at the WBP and is targeting a multi-decade mine life. Lilitha Resources (Pty) Ltd, a Black Economic Empowerment partner, holds a 26% stake in the project.

As part of its social and labour plan commitments and community engagement around its Gauteng operations, West Wits Mining funds bursaries for South African students in mining-related fields, with preference given to applicants from communities near its operations.
