Beit Trust Scholarship South Africa and Uk

The Beit Trust funds postgraduate Master's degrees at partner universities in South Africa and the United Kingdom. Importantly, this scholarship is not open to South African citizens - it funds nationals of Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi specifically, some of whom choose to study at South African universities as part of the programme.

We include it here because several Beit Trust partner universities, including Rhodes, Stellenbosch, and Cape Town, are South African institutions, making this a genuine study-in-South-Africa option for eligible students from the Trust's three focus countries.

If you are a South African citizen, this particular scholarship does not apply to you. If you are Zambian, Zimbabwean, or Malawian, it offers a well-established route to a fully funded Master's degree in South Africa or the UK.

The Beit Trust covers the full cost of a taught Master's degree at one of its partner universities, though it does not fund MBA programmes or PhD-level research at the initial application stage.

Because the scholarship is aimed specifically at strong candidates who do not yet hold a postgraduate qualification, it offers a genuine first step into postgraduate study for talented graduates from Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi.

In South Africa, Beit Trust partner universities are Rhodes University, Stellenbosch University, and the University of Cape Town, offering a two-year taught Master's degree. In the UK, partner universities include Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Oxford, St Andrews, and Strathclyde, each offering a one-year taught MSc.

For UK universities, you need an offer of admission before applying to the Trust. For South African universities, you can apply to the Trust first, listing your intended courses and universities, and confirm admission afterward.
