About Bheki Mlangeni Memorial Scholarship
The Bheki Mlangeni Memorial Scholarship is administered by the law firm Cheadle Thompson & Haysom Inc in memory of Bhekisizwe Godfrey Mlangeni, a colleague of the firm who joined as a Wits graduate, community activist and aspiring lawyer, and who was assassinated in February 1991 by a booby-trapped device sent by the apartheid-era security police. The scholarship supports final-year LLB students and promotes progressive legal education in his memory.
Funding Details
The scholarship provides financial support for a student's final year of LLB study. Recipients may also be invited to participate in a vacation work programme at Cheadle Thompson & Haysom.
