About Ernst Young Bursary
The EY (Ernst & Young) Bursary Programme funds South African students who intend to qualify as Chartered Accountants (SA), studying towards a SAICA-accredited accounting qualification at a partner university. Two categories are awarded: an Academic Merit with Financial Need bursary, covering a combination of tuition, accommodation, books and/or meals, and an Academic Merit bursary covering a portion of tuition fees for strong students without demonstrated financial need.
EY, one of South Africa's "Big Four" professional services firms, funds the programme to build its own pipeline of Chartered Accountants: in exchange for the bursary, recipients are required to complete their training contract (articles) with EY after graduating, for a minimum of three years.
Funding Details
The Academic Merit with Financial Need bursary covers one or more of tuition, accommodation, books and/or meals. The Academic Merit bursary (for students without demonstrated financial need) covers a portion of tuition fees. Both streams lead to a training contract offer with EY after graduation.
