EY (Ernst & Young) is one of the world's largest professional services networks and one of South Africa's "Big Four" audit and advisory firms, offering assurance, tax, transactions and consulting services to clients across the South African economy from offices in the country's major commercial centres.
EY runs its bursary programme to build a pipeline of qualified Chartered Accountants (SA), funding students studying towards a SAICA-accredited accounting degree in exchange for a training contract commitment: bursary recipients are required to complete their articles (a minimum three-year training contract) at EY after graduating, giving the firm a direct route into hiring the CA(SA) trainees it funds through their studies.
