About Sasseta Bursary
The Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA) offers a Discretionary Grant Unemployed Bursary aimed at young South Africans wanting to pursue higher education in fields relevant to the safety and security sector, such as law, policing, justice, corrections, forensics, and other scarce-skills disciplines. SASSETA was formed through the merger of the former POSLEC SETA and DIDTETA.
Funding Details
Reported funding levels are R80,000 per year for full-time university study (including a R10,000 laptop allowance), R35,000 for distance learning, R50,000 for TVET study, with variable amounts for Master's/research study depending on research costs.
