About Grassroots Youth Development Bursary
Grassroots Youth Development (GYD) is a bursary programme run by Masinyusane Development Organization, a non-profit organisation based in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) in the Eastern Cape, focused on education and youth development.
The programme supports local students from the Nelson Mandela Bay and Sundays River Valley areas who need financial help to complete tertiary study, and pairs funding with ongoing mentorship.
Funding Details
The bursary provides partial or full cover of registration fees, tuition fees, prescribed study materials, accommodation, and a living allowance stipend or transport fees, depending on the recipient's circumstances. Recipients also receive ongoing mentorship throughout their studies.
