Momentum Group (formerly Momentum Metropolitan Holdings) is one of South Africa's largest financial services groups, formed through the 2010 merger of Metropolitan Holdings and Momentum Group. Headquartered in Centurion, the group provides life and non-life insurance, asset management, investments, and healthcare administration under brands including Momentum, Metropolitan, and Guardrisk, with operations extending into Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Ghana, and Mozambique.

Momentum funds its Phambili bursary programme to build a pipeline of graduates in Accounting, Financial Management, IT, Investments Management, Mathematics, and Statistics - the technical disciplines its insurance and asset management businesses depend on most. The programme specifically targets previously disadvantaged South African students, tying Momentum's own skills pipeline directly to the transformation goals of the wider financial services sector.

After graduating, bursars move into Momentum's Phambili internship programme, giving them a direct route from funded study into a first role at the group.
